SAE Team
The main goal for this project was to design a push button shifting mechanism for the SAE racing team that was more efficient and easier to use then the existing manual shifter. There were to be two buttons one for shifting up and one for shifting down. The shifting up was to be done using electric solenoids, but a clutch will still be present for safety reasons. All conclusions were based upon careful reasoning, calculation and effective use of the design process.
