| WEDNESDAY APRIL 4, 2001 |
- Our final report is complete and is available to download on the download page.
- All project deliverables have been completed except for our final project presentation which will take place Thursday April 12, 2001.
| MONDAY APRIL 2, 2001 |
- Testing of our design prototype has been completed here at the college of engineering and at Cummins Engine Company. Results have been disapointing as neither of the prototypes have been able to transmit torque effectively. Our final report will be completed shortly, which will include reasons the system did not work as well as other possible steps that could be done to make the system feasible.
- Our guide to the fabrication and assembly of our prototype has been completed and is available to download on the download page.
- The final report will be completed by Thursday April 5 and we will give a presentation about our project and results in class on Thursday April 11, 2001.

| FRIDAY MARCH 9, 2001 |
- Our first completed prototype has been shipped to our project sponsor at Cummins Engine Company.
- More shafts have arrived and a second and possibly third prototype will be completed shortly.
- A method of testing our prototype here at the college of engineering has been determined and testing is expected to begin shortly in the upcoming weeks.
- So far we are pleased to have produced a prototype of our final design concept and feel we are on schedule to complete our project on time.

- A calculations and analysis report of our final concept has been organized and can be viewed on the concepts page or downloaded as a mathcad file on the download page.
- Photos of some of the machined parts of our design and some photos of the team members in the machine shop have been added to the photos page.
| WEDNESDAY MARCH 7, 2001 |
- Our first design prototype is complete. All components of the design were fabricated by the design team in the FAMU/FSU college of engineering machine shop (special thanks to Mr. Bill Kincannon for helping us so much with the setup of the machines). We were able to finish machining the parts earlier this week and the prototype assembly was completed today. Some of the components such as the springs and the very small pins were ordered from outside vendors. The shaft from the original fuel distributor we were provided was modified to fit our new design. It is anticipated that later in the week after meeting with our faculty advisor, the prototype will be shipped up to Cummins for their analysis. We hope to also acquire a few more shafts so that we can fabricate a few more prototypes and test them here at the college of engineering.
- Some cosmetic changes to the manufacturing drawings were made and have been updated on the concepts page.
| THURSDAY FEBRUARY 14, 2001 |
- All manufacturing drawings have been completed. The drawings can be downloaded or viewed as images on the concepts page. Work has begun in the machine shop and approximately half of the machining has been completed. Springs were selected based on our design calculations and ordered from Associated Spring. The springs arrived this week. A poster depicting our project is currently being printed and will be on display during industry day, February 21, 2001.
| WEDNESDAY JANUARY 31, 2001 |
- More stress analysis of the final concept has been added to the concepts page. Manufacturing drawings are in the process of being finalized and some of the preliminary drawings can be viewed on the concepts page. Materials for the components have been selected and we are in the process of acquiring all of them and arranging machine shop time. The team anticipates to have several prototypes built by March 7 in preparation for testing.
