E. Gamal Prather graduated from Wyoming High School in Cincinnati, OH in 1998 ranked 18th of 107 students with a 4.14 / 4.5 GPA. During his junior year he recieved a Life-Gets-Better Scholarship, the most prestigious of scholarships offered to students at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, FL. Gamal will graduate with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (ME) on 27 April 2002 with approximately a 3.75 GPA. After graduation, he plans to attend graduate school as a GEM Fellow at the University of Cincinnati's D.A.A.P. (College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning) studying Industrial Design (ID). ID involves drawing, protyping, conceptualizing and anaylyzing the appearance and aesthetic value of various products that range from cars to furniture to power tools to electronics to sports equipment. ID and ME go hand in hand in many respects because having a solid background in the fundamentals of mechanism design and manufacturing lends itself to design products efficiently for manufacturing. Upon completion of his M.I.D., the terminal degree in design, akin to a Ph.D. in engineering, Gamal plans to work for several years at a design firm before founding his own freelance design business. Later he aspires to join several of his classmates and friends in joint venture to start a design company.
