Code of Conduct

1. Ethics                                The members on this project need to keep in mind that they are now professionals whose advice will affect a major company.  Since this is a project involving ergonomics, it is important to make sure the safety of employees working at Shaw industries is not compromised with your designs.  It is your responsibility to make sure that funds are used wisely, resources are used sparingly, and time is used efficiently.

2. Company Interactions     When meeting with Shaw industries, always conduct yourself in such a way that reflects well on the FAMU/FSU College of Engineering.  This includes grammar, attitude, and a professional dress code.

3. Group Meetings               There will be a high level of respect for other team members’ opinions.  Punctuality is important to maintaining level of respect for each other.  Everyone will have a chance to speak and listen.  Remember to treat everyone not as you want to be treated, but as they want to be treated.

4. Distribution of Workload  Work will be distributed according to each persons’ individual area of study and personal interests.  Adequate time will be given to complete each task that has been assigned to you.

5. Conflict Resolution          All decisions will be made as a group, so any conflicts that present themselves will also be handled as a group.  There is no professor or manager over this group to handle disputes, so it is up to us maintain that level of maturity and professionalism.

6. Project Structure              Since the mechanical engineers are the ones in the actual senior design class, the course requirements for this class will serve as the format for how this project will be run.
