subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. and is the world’s largest manufacturer
of tufted broadloom carpet. Shaw
Industries is headquartered in Dalton, Georgia, and sells carpeting, rugs, and
hard surface flooring for residential and commercial applications throughout the
U.S. Shaw has different residential
products that it markets under different brands and labels.
The reason that the products are sold under these different labels lies
in the fact that different lines carry different prices and carpet styles.
The various lines that fall under Shaw are:
Philadelphia Carpets, Trust MARK Carpets, Cabin Crafts Carpets,
Expressive Designs, Sutton Carpets, Shaw Home Foundations, Queen Carpets, Tuftex
of California, and Shaw Mark. All
of these lines are distributed nationwide.
Shaw Industries, Inc. is also a
distributor of hard surface products, including ceramic tile, hard wood, and
laminate flooring. The different
lines of Shaw hard surface products, including Shaw Ceramics, Decades Laminates
by Shaw, and Shaw Hardwoods, allow customers to choose from a wide variety of
options when selecting the material and style of flooring they prefer.
The final portion of Shaw’s empire is the division that produces area rugs. Shaw offers a wide variety of product types and prices. Due to improvements in their technology, Shaw can now offer their area rugs at a cheaper price, allowing more customers than ever to buy them. The different types of area rugs produced by Shaw are: woven, fabricated, hand-tufted, and braided.
