SPECIFICATIONS

For guidance in this project CERN has specified the following specifications:

The first three specifications are very rigid. These must be met in order for the project to be a success.  The last two specifications are modifiable items. This means that the longer lengths and larger weights can be accommodated as long as the difference is not greater than a factor of two.

From the customer specifications, it has been determined that the best choice in materials is that of anti-ferromagnetic materials, or some special alloy. Anti-ferromagnetic materials have a complete magnetic moment cancellation, such that the material possesses no net magnetic moment.

It should also be noted that a prototype representing the final product should be built. However, the prototype must again satisfy the first two specifications mentioned above. A proof of principle will be used in order to show that a prototype built to the actual specifications would still display the same characteristics of the model.
