Batllebot Senior Design Group

About

As part of the Mechanical Engineering curriculum at the Florida State College of Engineering, students are required to complete a one year Senior Design Project. The two semester year is comprised of: system design, semester 1, and completion of a working prototype, semester 2, each semester requiring frequent project presentations and design package reports.

One zany group was given the ability to work on a very special Senior Design Project, a BattleBot. Yes, a group of immature, reckless, college students was actually allowed to dabble with a potentially dangerous and destructive remote control toy.

The 2003 Battlebot Senior Design Team worked on redesigning and upgrading the 2002 Battlebot Senior Design. Yes, they're actually crazy enough to let us do it again. A few of the minor modifications entailed:

Redesigning the previously failed drive train.
Redesigning the primary weapon system.
Reconsidering all material selection.
Removing unnecessary material.
Revamping entire electrical system.
