The test was broken down into three components; internal ballistics, external ballistics, and terminal ballistics.

¨ Internal ballistics refers to the segment of the test that takes place within the gun tube. (1)
External ballistics is the section where free flight occurs. (2)
Terminal ballistics is the collision of the projectile with the “target” and the slowing down of the projectile. (3)
Each of the components were divided and placed within the category determined by the team. This allowed the team to focus on each area of the test separately.
