Test Bed for Bevel Gear Design

The current Bevel Gear Test Bed used by Harris has had some unexpected experimental mishaps.  The possible problems include misalignment, overloading, and the anodic coating applied to the gears.  The main focus of our design will be to include adjustable mounting distance, speed, torque, surface treatments, as well as having a shaft angle that ranges from 89.5 degrees to 90.5 degrees.  Some extended goals include measuring heat generation, vibrations and testing more than just 90° straight bevel gears.
