Wind Turbine for Hurricane-Prone Regions


Project Overview:

Wind turbines are excellent sources of clean energy in todays industry, however turbines are limited to specific locations and site conditions. Namely hurricanes, the focus of our project is to design a wind turbine to withstand hurricane force winds, while still being cost effective and maintaining a high output of power generation.

Our design will consist of a method to reduce the total wind load on the structure to prevent failure. We will also take into account offshore applications as well as environmental impacts of the structure.
