Our launcher allows for a longer flight duration which is crucial for search and rescue operations.
With the launcher providing the energy for lift-off, drones are able to carry more supplies to the places that need it most.
A longer flight time allows for more thorough surveillance missions.
There is a large gap in technology between the military and commercial market when it comes to mid-sized drone launchers and there is currently no drone launcher designed for use on small vessels. A compact, lightweight, and durable drone launcher designed for small watercraft would expand the capabilities of law enforcement officers when conducting search and rescue or surveillance missions.
Our experience from working for the United States Navy as engineers heavily influenced our choice of design project. We knew we wanted to create something useful for our law enforcement officers and we wanted a project that would allow us to be out on the water!
After doing extensive market research, we came across some companies who make land-based drone launchers. As a Florida based team, we knew we wanted to create a drone launcher designed for the marine environment.
Our team has completed the design of the launcher system and the design has been extensively reviewed by engineers from our local industry.
We are currently working to construct a prototype of the launcher system and we expect to have a functional prototype by July of 2023.
Our team has been working closely with the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission to design a launcher capable of interfacing with a variety of their patrol boats.
The easily adaptable design makes the launcher perfect for recreational or professional use. The launcher is capable of supporting drones with internal payloads as well as surveillance suites.
