Abstract

To design and manufacture a high-powered rocket using advanced manufacturing processes, state of the art materials, and a payload system capable of deploying from the launch vehicle, collecting, containing, and testing soil within 15 minutes of landing.

PDR SUBMITTED

The Prelimenary Design Review was submitted showcasing improved vehicle concepts

SUBSCALE CONSTRUCTED

A subscale version of the vehicle was designed to test vehicle concepts

SUBSCALE LAUNCHED

The subscale vehicle was launched to test the vehicle concept

The Critical Design Review was submitted showcasing further improved designs and subscale data

A second version of the subscale was constructed & launched with improved materials & avionics

Austin Zaal

Avionics Officer

I am a gradating mechanical engineer with a strong interest in aeronautics. I intend to pursue a career as an military aviator, but am interested in engineering opportunities in the field. 

Krieg Conrad

Project Lead

I am pursuing research through the FSU InSPIRE program with a focus on metal additive manufacturing and advanced manufacturing technologies for aerospace and defense applications. My background includes engineering design, manufacturing, systems integration, and technical leadership through industry internships, research, and large-scale engineering projects.

Case Dyer

Payload Officer

I am a graduating mechanical engineer who enjoys solving complex problems. I am especially interested in manufacturing as the greatest design can only be great if it can be made and it is my hope to see more manufacturing return to the USA.

Matthew Wilson

Electronics Officer

I am senior in Electrical Engineering, interested in analog electronics and power systems. I am an IEEE member and work as a Lab Assistant here at FSUPC.

Jonothan Serbest

Safety Officer

I am a Mechanical Engineering senior and Honors student at Florida State University with an elective focus in material science. I am currently serving as Vice President of Rocketry and Mechatronics (RAM) and President of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) student chapter in Panama City, Florida.

I am a Business Administration senior and Senator on Student Government Council at Florida State University Panama City. I am pursuing a project management career after I graduate.
