Optimization of a Vapor Power Plant

• Objectives: design an optimal vapor power cycle

  • use idealized Carnot cycle as the model;
  • consider all theoretical and practical limitations and redesign the cycle accordingly ?Idealized Rankine cycle;
  • optimize the Rankine cycle using concepts of superheating, reheating and regeneration;
  • discussion concerning the increase of the efficiency of an idealized Rankine cycle.
