2-D Mohr’s Circle
Mohr's circle describes the same stress state at P, but with different orientations. The points at the end of each diameter refers to (normal, shear stress) on one surface. The x-axis corresponds to the principle plane and y-axis, an angle 45 degree from them. Angles in Mohr's circle are twice that of physical angles of rotation of the stress cube (square in 2-D).
