Summary
Using PIV, detailed velocity field data obtained in the entire flow; provides a better understanding of the global flowfield.
Some features clearly revealed for the first time:
- Slip line impingement causes boundary layer separation
- Presence of stagnation bubble clearly revealed
- Supersonic/transonic wall jet behavior
Mean (and unsteady) flow properties are a strong function of :
- NPR, separation distance and lift plate presence.
Able to relate the surface flow properties with the velocity field data.
Velocity field data very valuable for CFD code validation.
Excellent agreement between computational and experimental results.
