1948: Singularities

• The steady boundary layer equations have a singularity at the point of zero wall shear. At the singularity the velocity component away from the wall becomes infinite. (Goldstein 1948, Stewartson 1958)
• This assumed an attached flow pressure distribution. (Stewartson 1970)
