- Basically a Lagrangian computation.
- Represent the vorticity by `blobs' of vorticity called vortices.
- The vortices move with the local fluid velocity which can be
found cleverly (Van Dommelen & Rundensteiner 1989.)
- The vortices diffuse out which can be simulated cleverly
(Shankar & Van Dommelen 199)
- Applied to the circular cylinder (Van Dommelen & Shankar 1995
in preparation).
- Not the first computations, but one of the best.
