Find several thermodynamics books and read about temperature. Then write carfully what is temperature and how it is precisely defined. Note: Suggestion for reading and self questioning:

1. What is the zeroth law of thermodynamics
2. Is temperature independent of substance and why?
3. How does temmperature defined in equilibrium thermofynamic state needs further assumption before it can be used in non-equilibrium flows such as convective heat transfer?
