Problem 3: Pipe Flow

  1. Derive one dimensional steady momentum equation from a control volume idea for an incompressible uniform density fluid in a pipe flow as shown. Assume that the viscosity is a constant.
  2. If the flow is assumed to be fully developed ( tex2html_wrap_inline151 ) simplify the Navier-Stokes equations for the problem and find the pressure drop per unit length of the pipe.
