• Try to take complete and organized notes during the lectures. The instructor will present numerous examples and solution methods that are important.

• Try to ask questions as soon as you have them. Ask during the lecture, during office hours and discussion sections. Do not compile all your questions for the night before an examination.

• Make sure you are comfortable with the basic ideas. Memorizing examples may not be sufficient to solve homework or exam problems. Familiarity with the basic principles, on the other hand, is what you should seek.
