  • Readings on main memory concepts:
    • Read Parhami chapter 17, “Main Memory Concepts,” pp. 317-331.
    • Review the lecture slides for chapter 17 (slide module 16), when posted on Blackboard.    
  • Readings on cache memory organization:
    • Read Parhami chapter 18, “Cache Memory Concepts,” pp. 335-348.
    • If you also have the optional Patterson & Hennessy text, you may also want to read chapter 7, “Large and Fast: Exploiting Memory Hierarchy.”
    • Review the lecture slides for chapter 18 (slide module 17), when posted on Blackboard.
