Meaning of ASCII control codes c0.html (101.305 Kb) This document (adapted from http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/chars/c0.html) briefly describes the intended meanings of the standard control characters in ASCII. These are essentially the same as the descriptions in the latest versions of the official ASCII standard. However, be warned that specific systems do not always follow these suggestions, and may use the control codes in very different ways than these. |

Symbols you can use for ASCII control codes My-ASCII-Glyphs-v2.4.doc (1.013 Mb) My-ASCII-Glyphs-v2.4.pdf (484.964 Kb) This document describes a number of graphical symbols that I suggest using to represent the ASCII control codes, symbols that are intended to remind us of the code's intended purpose. I also give the character codes for these symbols in the Unicode character set, which are helpful for picking them out from among the thousands of symbols that are listed in the Insert Symbol dialog box for a Unicode font such as Arial Unicode MS. NOTE: The Word document will not appear properly unless you have the Arial Unicode MS font installed. |
