Dr. Salah Aziz has earned BS (1976) in Physics from Baghdad University, MS (1985) and PhD (1988) in Nuclear Physics from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. In 1988, he was among 45 -newly Ph.D. holders in the United States - selected for the "Young Scientists" workshop. Dr. Aziz joined (1988-98) Florida State University and Florida A&M University as Research Associate then faculty member in the physics departments, respectively. In his research, he focused on studying nuclear structure of light- and rare-nuclei during a large momentum transfer's conditions. He used proton-proton, proton- Π and multi-particles transfer reactions in the following facilities: Indiana University, Florida State University and Princeton University, respectively. Further, he cooperated with nuclear scientists from Kolone University in Germany in developing O-Ring for multi-particles experiments. He published eight papers in the American Physics Review C.
Dr. Aziz has joined the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering in 2002 as Coordinator of Academic Programs in the Associate Dean's Office. The College has 18 engineering programs. His activities include; generating statistic reports which help in decision-making of the college affairs; and to assist the engineering programs to meet the criteria set by the State of Florida, Universities, and Regional (SACS) and Professional (ABET) accreditation agencies for insuring the quality of the engineering education. In addition, he focuses on improving quality of engineering education in the Developing countries. His latest publications are:
