This is who we are.
[ Instructor] [ Senior Lab Engineer] [ Teaching Assistants] [ Classes ]
For most of the experiments in this lab, supporting components are
implimented. This is usually for the purpose of data analysis or sample
preparation.
Dr. Loren B. Schreiber, the instructor of the Transport Laboratory as well as the Unit Ops Laboratory at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, joined the team in August 2000. Since then, he has been an asset to the faculty and revamped the entire laboratory process. Dr. Schreiber worked for over 20 years at International Flavors and Fragrances Incorporated as the team leader Research and Development. His many responsibilities included: process conceptualization, pilot studies, and equipment design and debottlenecking. Clearly, Dr. Schreiber brought with him an extensive knowledge of industrial processes which allows for a more applicable approach to engineering concepts.
Mr. Richard Crisler joined the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering staff in October 2000 as the full-time laboratory engineer. His responsibilities include: maintaining the laboratory experiments, making improvements to the lab, investigating the introduction of new experiments to the laboratory. Mr. Crisler worked for five years as an analytical chemist specializing in the analysis of volatile and semi-volatile environmental contaminants using a gas chromatograph. He also served fifteen years in the United States Army. As the laboratory's engineer, he has been pivotal in aiding the students in the learning process. Ultimately, Mr. Crisler hopes to make our laboratory the best in the nation.
