INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING HEAT TRANSFER ANALYSIS ON ALGOR AT THE ENGINEERING SCHOOL:

**The instructions on this page apply only to analysis performed at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering***
  • Make a new folder on your F: drive and save all your work for a particular Algor problem in that folder.
  • Copy that folder to the C:\temp folder on the computer.
  • Open Algor, then open the file (.esd) from the C:\temp location, NOT from your F: drive!!!
IMPORTANT NOTES: Following these instructions, you should have no problem with heat transfer analysis; this method works fine for ALL versions of Algor. Please be sure to copy the whole folder to the C:\temp location. If you only copy the .esd file, you will lose some of the input data and have to start over. Also, be sure to keep a copy of the folder on you F: drive, and if you save the images after you generate the results, make sure those are saved to your F: drive as well because the C:\temp is deleted every night at 2am. That means it would be a good idea NOT to rely on analyzing the results between 1-3am.
