This road map page is produced to supplement the teaching of a newly designed two-course sequence on thermal and fluid sciences.  This innovative curriculum combines the traditional thermal disciplines of Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Fluid mechanics into one integrated subject: the study of complete thermal systems.  In addition, special emphasis has also been placed on the introduction of real-world thermal systems and the relevant state-of-the-art thermal/fluid technology.  However, there is no available textbook that covered these subjects in a coherent manner at this time.  Therefore, supplementary materials have to be provided in order to ensure smooth transitions between different subjects.   For the past four semesters( from fall 1998 to spring 2000), an effort was made to establish two comprehensive course web pages to serve this purpose.  These pages can be found in www.eng.fsu.edu/~shih/em3015/index.htm and www.eng.fsu.edu/~shih/eml3016/index.htm.  In addition, this road map page was organized to provide a step-by-step guidance for the teaching of the integrated course and it contains a collection of web-based supplementary materials to be used throughout the entire curriculum.  Click on the following globe image to go to the road map page.
