  • Concepts

    • Keep washer/extractor separate, change tubs to plastic

      • Separate pieces of plastic, sealed together

      • Mold entire thing and make partitions

      • Mold entire thing with partitions already molded into it

      • Three separate tubs with prongs to assemble them

      • Change control panel to plastic

      • Bolt plastic body to frame or bend

    • Combine washer and extractor

    • Keep control panel same shape or make square instead of bending

  • Things to find out:

    • Thickness of plastic needed

    • How much water will be fed into tub

  • Things to do the rest of the week:

    • Call suppliers

    • Processing costs: are the different mold shapes cheaper

    • Concept 4: two tubs, water tight middle tub

    • Concept 3: looks expensive

    • Concept 2: low assembly cost, moderate tooling cost

    • Hot polypropylene glue (plastic welding)

    • Concept 1: good concept

    • Plastic must be able to support electrical housings without combusting (ETL rating)

    • Manifold system for water inlet

    • Find other ideas for water distributing system (if necessary)
