Welcome To Our Website

*We are Senior Design Group 9.
We are one of many senior design groups attending the FSU/FAMU College of Engineering in Tallahassee, FL. We are currently working on a Gunnery Control Simulator Handle in cooperation with Lockheed Martin.

*To learn more about us, check out our "About Us" section.
In the "About Us" section you will be introduced to the members of Senior Design Group 9, and you can also find links to our C/V's and get information on what we may be planning in our future.

Documents

*For technical info on the project, check out the Documents section.
In the Documents section you can find out about any design updates we may have made by downloading a copy of any of our deliverables. These include documents outlining the scope of our project all the way through the design of our Gunnery Control Simulator Handle.

Information

*If you would like information, let us know.
We are more than happy to speak with you. If you have any questions about our project or may be interested in mechanical engineering, let us know. You can find ways to contact us in the Contact Us section. We can be contacted as a group or individually.

   A Little About Our Project

We are the Senior Design Group 9, and we are three seniors from the FAMU/FSU College of Engineering. Our group is comprised of three Mechanical Engineering majors: Michael Brown, William Thornton, and Deanna McKenzie. To see more about each individual in the group, check out the About Us section of the website. Currently, we are working on the design and rapid prototyping of a Gunnery Simulation Control Handle for Lockheed Martin. Pictures can be seen in the Gallery of the designs in Pro-Engineer (a 3D rendering program utilized for design). This handle is basically a controller, not unlike one you may use to play a game console, for a simulation system. The simulator is supposed to be utilized by the armed forces for training on both the M1 Abrams and M2 Bradley tanks. Our design is set apart by its ability to have handles that can be detached, allowing for use with multiple tanks. As of now, we will only be designing for two tanks systems, but ultimately, this handle can be used for a wide variety of tank simulators.

For detailed information on our design, please visit the documents section, where copies of our deliverables can be downloaded for viewing.
