A Little About Our Project

We are the Senior Design Group 9, and we are three seniors from the FAMU/FSU College of Engineering. Our group is comprised of three
Mechanical Engineering majors: Michael Brown, William Thornton, and Deanna McKenzie. To see more about each individual in the group, check
out the About Us section of the website. Currently, we are working on the design and rapid prototyping of a Gunnery Simulation Control Handle
for Lockheed Martin. Pictures can be seen in the Gallery of the designs in Pro-Engineer (a 3D rendering program utilized for design). This
handle is basically a controller, not unlike one you may use to play a game console, for a simulation system. The simulator is supposed to
be utilized by the armed forces for training on both the M1 Abrams and M2 Bradley tanks. Our design is set apart by its ability to have handles
that can be detached, allowing for use with multiple tanks. As of now, we will only be designing for two tanks systems, but ultimately, this
handle can be used for a wide variety of tank simulators.
