Soil loss form the landscape was also considered, which might stem from many factors. Our modeling approach indicated that the loss was due to inadequate biomass as a result of overgrazing or improper grazing practices, which often occurs on specific land uses. Average sediment yield was greater than 10 metric ton per ha and max sediment yield was greater than 20 metric ton per ha in at least one HRU (HRU#: 1742, subbasin#: 24, crop: SOYB, soil: Collins). For the whole study region, average upland sediment yield was 16.96 ton/ha with the average surface runoff of 111.84 (mm/yr) based on NEXRAD RADAR data. According to the model so far, the most vulnerable land uses to soil loss were farms. |
