Meeting 2: 09/24/2015

  • Discussed what is the goals for the project in order to devise a plan for the project.
  • The notes that were gathered from meeting with Dr. Faruque was taken and compared to the project's plan.
  • Team worked on the Project Plan and Specifications draft.

  • Team worked on the first presentation.
  • Each member was assigned a part and was in charge of completing their slides.
  • Once all the slides were completed, each member checked each other's slides.
  • The final slides were put together and each team member practiced going over their slides in a prep presentation to prepare for the final one.

Meeting 9: 10/26/2015

  • Team worked on the final drafts of the Needs Analysis as well as the Project Plan and Specifications.
  • Team proofread each other's assigned section.
  • Once all the sections were adjusted then all the parts were put together .

Meeting 12: 11/17/2015

  • Team worked on the second presentation.
  • Each member was assigned a part and was in charge of completing their slides.

Meeting 13-14: 11/18/2015 - 11/19/2015

  • Demo testing and coding for Presentation 2
  • Communication from Website -> Main Controller -> Load Controller
  • Web Application coding and implementation on LAN(Local Area Network).

Meeting 15: 11/29/2015

  • Team go together to work on the poster for the poster presentation
  • A draft poster was made and printed out to see what improvements could be made
  • Once adjustments were made, the final copy of the poster was sent to Dr. Hooker

Meeting 16: 12/02/2015

  • Team divided out sections of the final report for the Fall Semester and worked on them on their own time
  • Once all the sections were completed, the team got together and critiqued each other's work in order to make improvements to the paper.

Meeting 17: 01/14/2016

  • First Meeting of 2016
  • Division of labor and organization.
  • Status of Order #2: Redo the purchase order.
  • Schedule for meetings throughout the semester: Group meeting every Thursday at 5:00 PM - CAPS LAB.

Meeting 18: 01/19/2016

  • Completed the testing for the communication between the Load Controller and Main Controller.
  • The testing was done in the COE on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor.
  • Data was recorded and stored in the Dropbox.

Meeting 19: 01/21/2016

  • Testing procedures designed.
  • Organization of source code. All the code will be available in a Git Repository on BitBucket.
  • Decision on working mechanism for the exchange of information between the load and main controllers.
  • 2nd Purchase Order sent.

  • Team worked on the first presentation of the Spring 2016 Semester.
  • Each member was assigned a part and was in charge of completing their slides.
  • Once all the slides were completed, each member checked each other's slides.

Meeting 21: 01/27/2016

    Meeting with Dr. Faruque
  • Possible Theoretical additions to Smart Algorithm:
  • Energy Storage (Solar - Renewable Energy)
  • Grid
  • Presentation 1 2016 : Changes and tests done since last presentation.
  • Report 1 : Add normalization graphs and comparison between regular and 'smart' results.
  • Perform reliability tests by mapping an area and showing Good - Regular - Bad reception areas.

Meeting 22: 01/28/2016

  • First part of the signal reception tests performed on CAPS.
  • Real Time Graph addition to the webapplication.

Meeting 23: 02/10/2016

  • Ask Dr. Hooker about presentation rubric.
  • Discussed main controller features briefly.
  • Discussed new implementations.
  • Transceiver testing. Should do one test in CAPs and a test in the COE
  • Does this mean the system could be used in homes and buildings as well?
  • Discuss that we should add why we used TI components in the project
  • Instead of a acrylic casing then we could just use a custom acrylic casing

    Meeting with Dr. Faruque
  • Presented our current prototype.
  • Discussed what type of casing should we use for our casing? Plexiglass/acrylic?.
  • Discuss what is the plan for real-time pricing reading off the internet?.
  • Incorporate real data, Research algorithm implemented (load priorities), Hourly pricing.comed.com.
  • Discuss how the Main Controller is connected to the internet.

Meeting 26: 03/10/2016

  • Worked on completing the prototype Load Controller and Main Controller.

Meeting 27: 03/15/2016

  • Discussed testing the communication with new data being transferred.
  • Discussed protocols and codes for transmitting to the MSP - Load Controller

Meeting 28: 03/31/2016

  • Team divided out sections of the Operations Manual for the Spring 2016 Semester and worked on them on their own time.
  • Once all the sections were completed, the team got together and critiqued each other's work in order to make improvements to the Operations Manual

Meeting 29: 04/06/2016

  • Had meeting in class.
  • The log book is due the 11th at 10:00 AM, The website is due 11th at 10:00 AM, Poster is due the 10th by 5:00 PM, Final Report is due the 11th at 10:00 AM.
  • Began to work on the Final Report
  • Continue to do testing on the communication between the Main Controller and the Load Controller.

Meeting 30: 04/07/2016

  • Continue work on Final Report.
  • Began final contruction of Load and Main controllers.
  • Began Final communication tests.
  • Finalize Web Application.
