Pointers

Make sure that the pump output of the feed is large enough to
obtain a high flow rate.
•
The calibration samples, used to determine the composition of the
product, should be prepared prior to the lab because of time constraints.
•
Using large vials for the calibration samples helps to obtain more
accurate compositions.
•
The materials used in making the feed should be located near the
extraction experiment.
•
Be sure to practice injecting samples into the gas chromatograph
in order to obtain consistent and accurate data.
