David Noyes was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. After graduating from St. Petersburg High School he decided to move four hours north to beautiful Tallahassee, FL to attend Florida State University as a Mechanical Engineering major. After four long years, he is excited to finally have graduation in his sights. After graduation he plans on going into the field of research and development where he can solve problems by developing new gadgets. He hopes to work for Rapid Composites, a small company that handles mostly government contract work located only about an hour south of where he grew up.
David has attended the American Society of Mechanical Engineer's Student Professional Development Conference for the last two years and is very excited to be attending again this year. In years past his team has performed very well and he looks forward to applying what he has learned to this year's competition. It was David who suggested the Robot for Relief competition for Senior Design.
David is the ASME Student Section President at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering and spends most of his free time organizing and planning upcoming events for the members. When he isn't busy with ASME he is either catching up on sleep, doing homework, playing video games, or playing with his dog.
