Postdoctoral research

Postdoctoral opportunities

Postdoctoral openings are announced as funded projects and positions become available. Candidates with expertise in computational fluid dynamics, atmospheric turbulence, wildland-fire dynamics, particle transport, or related areas are encouraged to review current FSU listings.

  • Ph.D. in mechanical or aerospace engineering, atmospheric science, or a related field
  • Strong computational research and scientific-programming background
  • Ability to communicate results and contribute to collaborative research

Graduate research

Ph.D. opportunities

Prospective graduate students with interests in atmospheric turbulence and thermo-fluid phenomena at the land–atmosphere interface are encouraged to apply.

  • Background in mechanical or aerospace engineering, atmospheric science, or a related field
  • Experience or coursework in computational fluid dynamics
  • Research experience and programming skills are highly desirable

Early research experience

Undergraduate opportunities

Motivated undergraduate students can contribute to computational fluid-dynamics research and gain experience working on interdisciplinary environmental problems.
